Why families choose Northholm

At Northholm Grammar, your child will be known as an individual, their needs understood and their dreams encouraged. We focus on developing a love of learning in all our students, encouraging them to achieve their best at all times. A Northholm education is as distinct as your child.

Families choose Northholm for our holistic, co-educational Kindergarten to Year 12 experience, focused on a philosophy that aims to challenge students with Learning through Scholarship, developing character though personal and spiritual growth and building relationships both within Northholm and in the greater community.

Learning through scholarship

Northholm Grammar is academically rigorous but not selective – we stand for excellence and each student achieving their personal best. Students are challenged and motivated to develop a love of learning so they can harness the intellectual habits that will allow them to be independent and confident.

We recognise that each child is motivated and learns differently; our personalised learning approach allows us to understand and respond to the individual needs of each student. An All-through School Framework supports the transition of student through all the school phases from Kindergarten to Year 12 and students enjoy the direct proximity of younger children to older ones which offers mentoring and leadership opportunities.

High quality educators delivering responsive teaching

Passion for their subject, positivity in their outlook and dedication to building a trusting and supportive culture are hallmarks of Northholm teachers. Our teachers are regularly appraised, receive ongoing professional development and work collaboratively to ensure we continue to apply best practice teaching to your child’s education.

We have embraced a framework which provides teachers with the skills and classroom practices intended to create safe, joyful and engaging classrooms. Teaching is informed by results, assessment, positive and caring student-teacher relationships and ongoing feedback.

Opportunities to enrich student life and develop character

We believe an important part of enabling our students to become good citizens and preparing them to live rich and successful lives is the development of character. Spiritual and personal growth, and social and emotional wellbeing, are developed through a range of programs that allow students to find their personal passions, interests and gifts.

We believe that education is more than grades: the Northholm curriculum, range of co-curricular opportunities, pastoral care and service learning programs are all fundamental to enabling our students to thrive and flourish at school and beyond. Students love the broad range of co-curricular opportunities available to them – no matter where their talents lie there is something for everyone.

Our unique environment

Nestled in natural bushland, across a picturesque 10 hectares, our students have space to explore across our semi-rural campus. The exceptional environment offers a range of outdoor education opportunities coupled with contemporary and specialist learning spaces.

Northholm now connects with more places than ever through new bus routes, with easy access from Castle Hill, Berowra, Galston, Hornsby Rouse Hill, The Ponds and more.

A welcoming community

As a School with inclusive Christian values, families love that our community is welcoming to all faiths and embraces diversity. Northholm is a place where relationships are real, between students, teachers, parents, School leaders, alumni and with the greater community.

We put a high priority on building strong connection through family-focused events and activities of the Northholm Association, and through sharing our achievements in The Arcadian magazine and News page. Together we work to create a safe, respectful, tolerant and inclusive learning environment.
