Northholm Grammar School is an independent co-educational school for students from Kindergarten to Year 12, situated in a beautiful semi-rural environment in Arcadia in Sydney’s north-west.
Established in the broad Anglican tradition, the School welcomes families from different backgrounds and provides a holistic education that fosters the worth of the individual, encourages academic and sporting excellence and promotes Christian values.
In 1983, Northholm Grammar’s commitment began with a vision of a dynamic, family-centred school that looks upon its students, parents and staff as part of a community striving for a common goal – to provide a distinctive education that offers a unique level of care where each child is known, respected, cared for and cared about.
Today, the School offers a comprehensive and consistent approach to the academic and pastoral development of each student throughout the whole school journey, with the belief of academic intentionality with pastoral attentiveness. Parents don’t have to choose between a culture of academic excellence and their child’s emotional and social wellbeing at Northholm.
Northholm is an All-Through School meaning we are ‘one school, one campus, one culture’ from Kindergarten to Year 12. Our specialist staff work across the entire school and our philosophical whole-school approach is centred on the growth and development of students as ‘learners and persons’.
Northholm Grammar’s educational approach is underpinned by the following core principles: high expectations, explicit teaching, knowledge-based curriculum, deliberate practice, feedback and strong relationships between teachers and students. Our teachers know, care, challenge and support the growth and development of our students at a level beyond larger schools.
Northholm believes firmly in character development to support our students in becoming the best versions of themselves. This includes a strong pastoral care program based on the House System and Tutors. Our developmental program is focused on decision making and goal setting. We want to ensure students have a sense of belonging, that they realise their full potential and they leave school having the capacity to make the right moral and ethical decisions.
Northholm motivates each student to achieve and challenges them to fulfill their personal best through:
Educational Philosophy: Your child will discover a love of learning and find purpose at Northholm. Our educational philosophy starts with a belief in personalised learning in a culture of high expectations that encourages academic rigour and independent thinking, while providing the support they need for personal growth and development.
Co-curricular opportunities: At Northholm, we offer a wide variety of opportunities for your child to explore their interests and develop their passions, promoting personal development.
Character and wellbeing programs: We recognise that your child’s emotional and social wellbeing is just as important as their learning program, in instilling in them a determination and character to succeed.
Community: We are an inclusive and engaged community, welcoming of all families who share our common goal of providing a holistic and distinctive education that values every member as an individual.
