In the early hours of the morning on Thursday 25 April, bugles and trumpets were played as Anzac Day Dawn Services took place across the country. Northholm Grammar commemorated Anzac Day with a profound sense of gratitude and respect for the service and sacrifices made by our veterans. The annual event serves as a poignant reminder of the courage displayed by those who have fought in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations to protect our nation and uphold its values.
The purpose of Anzac Day extends beyond mere remembrance; it is a day of reflection, honouring the legacy of those who have served and acknowledging the profound impact of their contributions on our society. It is a time to pay tribute to the resilience and camaraderie forged on the battlefield and to recognise the enduring spirit of service that continues to inspire future generations.
This year, Year 11 student Isabelle Henderson represented the School as the ANZAC Ambassador at the Castle Hill RSL Dawn Service, speaking eloquently to those in attendance about Australia’s involvement in the Gulf War. At the Glenorie ANZAC Dawn Service, Piper Lockhart and Eliose Dagg (both Year 6) commemorated the occasion as representatives of Northholm.
At Northholm Grammar, this solemn occasion is marked with reverence and solemnity at our Anzac Day Service held on 8 April 2024 prior to the School holidays. Mr Graham Bruce, Honorary Secretary of Glenorie RSL Sub-Branch, joined the Northholm community to share insights and reflections on the significance of Anzac Day. His speech resonated with the audience, conveying a deep sense of appreciation for the sacrifices made by servicemen and women throughout history.
