With live performances reduced and restricted last year, it was a great thrill for Northholm’s Annual Music Showcase to once again light up the stage at the Hornsby RSL Club. The yearly highlight of the Music calendar featured both curricular and co-curricular music students showcasing their incredible talents.
Performing a wide range of music styles, the ensembles both large and small provided the captivated audience with a wonderful evening of entertainment. There were works presented from the Years 5 and 6 Concert Band, the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Stage Band One, Training Band, Primary Years Choir, Senior Choir, and Brass, Clarinet, Flute, String, Saxophone, Guitar and Percussion Ensembles. In addition, a special performance by the Year 12 HSC Music students was a standout moment.
Celebrating the years of hard work many students go through to learn their craft, the annual music showcase is a valuable experience for them performing in front of a captivated crowd. The concert was wonderful for the audience of teachers, peers, family, friends and the public to hear the diverse musical styles and sophisticated technical accomplishments these young musicians have achieved.
An emphatic thank you goes out to all the staff who helped organise and run the event – Mr David Stratton, Mrs Libby Cuza, Mr Michael Teterin, Ms Lauren Barlow, Mrs Erin Werner, Miss Kellie Smith, Mr Russel McCool and Mr Matthew Garrett. We also appreciate the ongoing support of our parent/carer community in celebrating the incredible talents of Northholm’s young musicians. More than a third of our students are involved in the School’s vibrant music program, which is a vital part of life at Northholm.
